How to completely remove Search Protect from your computer?
Surely many users have encountered the fact that at one “wonderful” moment your browser I started working completely differently. When you open it, pages completely unfamiliar to you open. In the process of working with it, completely incomprehensible pages also randomly open. All this happens due to the impact of malware. And usually this starts after installing some suspicious program. There are very tricky programs that completely change your browser settings. Moreover, such programs operate without the user’s knowledge. One such program is Search Protect. This program is unwanted and in most cases is installed on the computer without notifying the user.
What's wrong with this program? In fact, there are quite a lot of bad things about it. So, it changes browser settings, replaces search results and causes advertising to appear in the browser. And like most such programs, uninstalling this program is quite problematic.
It is also worth noting that most modern browsers can pick up this malicious program. Thus, the Search Protect program can “get into” browsers such as Mozilla Firefox и Google Chrome.
So, you can remove Search Protect in the following ways. First of all, go to the Program Files or Program Files (x86) folders (these are located on the main drive of your computer). You may find the XTab folder here. In this folder you need to find the file uninstall.exe. You need to run it. Running this file will uninstall Search Protect. But most often you will have to act differently.
First of all, open your computer's task manager. In the task manager, open the tab "Processes" and look for the processes cltmg.exe and SPTool64.exe or SearchProtection.exe. Having found these processes, you need to end them.
After that, open the search menu on your computer and look for the files cltmng.exe, SPTool64.exe, SPVC32.dll, SPVC32Loader.dll, SPVC64.dll, SPVC64Loader.dll. If you find them, be sure to delete them.
After you have completed the above steps, move on to the next step. Go to the menu "Control panel"and here we search and go to the menu"Programs"and here we select the sub-item"Removing programs". If you find the Search Protect program in this menu, then remove it.
After these steps, look for the searchprotect folder on your computer’s hard drive. Most likely, it will be located in the Program Files section on drive C. This folder must also be deleted. Now all that remains is to clean the registry from this program. This can be done using standard Windows tools or using a special program, for example, CCleaner.
This is done using standard Windows OS tools as follows. Come to "Start", then call up the menu "Run" and in it we write the command regedit. Go to the registry, look for folders with the name of the program and delete all of them.
Now you need to clean your browsers. Let's look at the example of Google Chrome. All you need to do is change your browser's home page and search engine. For example, you can install Google.com everywhere.
After that, right-click on the browser shortcut. Select the item "<font><font>Materials</font></font>" and in the menu that opens, select the tab "Label". Now you need to find the object line and delete everything in it that is after the .exe. We complete our actions by clicking on the button "OK". By the way, all this can be done a little differently. You just need to delete the browser shortcut from the desktop and place a new shortcut from the browser folder on it. But this does not always work. In principle, after all these steps, the Search Protect program should be removed Don't be afraid that there are too many actions, they are all extremely simple and understandable.
