Replacing the hard drive on the PlayStation 4 console

The PlayStation 4 console, at the time of writing, is the newest version of consoles from Sony. In addition to image quality and increased performance, these set-top boxes have removable hard drives that can be upgraded or replaced with others. You will learn how to do this correctly here. 1. Unplug your console completely.
   
2. Disconnect all cords and cables from the console.
   
3. Place the console on a flat surface and slide the cover of the PS4 case as shown in the figure.
   
   
   
   
   
4. You will see the hard drive that will be attached with screws. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws and slide out the bracket holding the hard drive.
   
   
   
   
   
5. Now the media can be easily removed, which is what you need to do.
   
6. Next, unscrew the mounting cage from the hard drive using the same screwdriver.
   
   
   
   
   
7. Screw the mounting basket to the new disk with which you will replace the old one and install the media in place of the previous one, not forgetting to screw all the screws back.
   

Operating system installation
So, the hard drive is replaced, but there is nothing on it except free space. Therefore, the next thing you need to do is install an operating system suitable for PS4.

1. Take a flash drive and create a folder on it PS4, in which create another folder UPDATED.
   
2. Download the latest firmware for PlayStation 4 from official website of the manufacturer https://www.playstation.com/ru-ru/get-help/ps4-system-software/.
   
3. File PS4UPDATE.PUP copy to the folder created on the flash drive UPDATED.
   
4. Next, connect the flash drive to the USB connector on your console, and then start the console in safe mode.
   
5. To do this, press and hold the power button of the set-top box when it is turned off.
   
6. After two expressive beeps, release the power button.
   
7. When you are in the Safe Mode menu, select Initialize PS4, then follow the installer's instructions.
   

After installing the operating system, reboot your console and enjoy gaming on your new hard drive.
