Setting up the Megafon MMS service on your phone

Using MMS, you can send multimedia data or text with a large number of characters to another user. This cannot be avoided when the recipient’s mobile device is not a smartphone. How else can you send colorful landscapes from your vacation or congratulate them with a picture? Only by setting up the service on your phone. There are four ways to get MMS settings from Megafon to save their configuration on your phone.

The first method

We configure MMS by sending CMC:

- First, we need to make sure that the tariff has a connected GPRS service and it is activated. This is especially true for users of the Light tariff. To do this, type the following combination to send a request



Then press the green “Call” button and wait for a response from the operator. A message should appear on the screen stating that the service is activated or is already active for this number.

- Next, we order MMS settings. To do this, open the body of the message, write the number “3” in it and send it to the toll-free number “5049”.

- After this you will receive a message with the settings. It should appear on the screen with two active buttons: “Apply”, “Refuse”. Click “Apply” to save the configuration.

On some phones, the active buttons may have different names, such as "Save" and "Don't Save." After the changes are saved, reboot the device and check the service.

Calls from Megafon will be free.

After connecting to the operator, you should inform about your intentions to activate the MMS service, and also indicate the model of your phone. After which the operator will send you the settings to your phone. Next, save them and reboot the device.

A third method

You can also order settings from the official Megafon website http://moscow.megafon.ru.
To do this, go to the website in the upper right corner and look for the “Support” tab. From the window that drops down, select “Self-service services”.

After this, a list of services will appear on the left. We are interested in “Setting up mobile devices”.
Next, fill out the form, where you must immediately indicate the brand of the device you are using.



Then select a model.



Then we select from the list the service whose settings we need, enter the code from the picture and indicate the number to send the configuration.



The settings will arrive within a few minutes. We save them and reboot the device.

The fourth way

You can configure MMS yourself by manually entering configuration data.
To do this, go to the MMS settings on your phone and fill out all the fields, as shown in the screenshot.



Then we reboot the device and check the operation of MMS. There is no preferred option for setting up the service, since each method will be applicable to one device and useless to another. If you are not confident in your ability to configure MMS yourself and have doubts, then contact your operator before using one of the methods.
