Register on Steam
First you need to download Steam client from the official website http://store.steampowered.com/. This is not necessary to create a new account, but without it you will not be able to use the resources of the resource. Registering a new user account is required to purchase games. When you first launch the Steam client, a window with a button to create an account appears automatically. The user can make an unlimited number of accounts. To create an entry, you need to enter its name (login), login password, email address (an activation letter is sent there), and a security question that can be used to recover the password. The registration procedure is traditional for most sites.
You can use your account both on the official website of the store and in the Steam program, but a request to change the password can only be sent from the client. In your login, you can specify letters of the Latin alphabet, numbers, and the underscore _. But it should not contain the words Steam and Valve, so as not to create the false impression that this is the account of a company employee.
Now let's move on to the interface and client capabilities. At the bottom left there will be an “Add Game” button. There you can add a third-party game to your Steam library or enter the activation code for the game you purchased (after which you will be able to download it).
The program window has 4 main tabs:
“Store” - prices and news about the release of new games are displayed there. You can browse thematic sections if you are interested in games of a certain genre.
“Library” - games activated on Steam are displayed here. You can start the game and also view your statistics and the statistics of your friends (in this game).
"Community" is a means of connecting gamers.
The next tab is the name of your profile in the game. It does not depend on the login. This is the name that will be used in games and that friends and other players will see. It can be changed many times, using not only English letters (for example, Russian). This is a very convenient feature. In the tab itself, you can edit your gaming profile, view your list of friends and game screenshots or videos that your friends post. During the game, you can communicate with gamers via microphone, for example, using Skype programs. Registration on the Steam network opens up many entertainment opportunities for users.
