Fixing the “xlive.dll is missing” error

Исправляем ошибку «отсутствует xlive.dll»

xlive dll is a small, but not negative part of the Microsoft Games for Windows LIVE game service. This application allows users to connect to devices that are supported by the service  Windows LIVE. Very often installing modern games on your computer, such as:

- Warhammer.
- Resident evil.
- GTA 4.
- Bulletstorm.
- Dawn of war.
- Fallout 3.
- Fable.

Therefore, when you launch these games, the system may display a message that a file called “xlive dll” is missing or damaged. (XLive.dll not found; XLive.dll is missing).

This file is copied to your computer when you install the game.

Its absence can be explained by two reasons:

- Error installing the game. That is, the archive or disc with the game can often be damaged or packaged with errors.

- Very often these libraries are infected with viruses. So first you need to check your computer healing utility Cureit and only then proceed to the next steps.

The solution to this problem is to download this file from the Internet or find and install it from the disk on which the game is recorded. However, this can only be done if the disc is licensed.

After downloading this file from the Internet, you need to copy it to the game folder and to the system folder “C:\\Windows\\System32”. After repeated reboot the computer the game will launch successfully.

Also, when connecting to the Windows LIVE service, the system may generate an error about the absence of a sequence number in the xlive dll library. You can resolve this message by installing the latest version DirectX package. If you still don’t trust random sources that offer to download the system library, then you should go to the official developer website http://www.microsoft.com/ru-ru/download/details.aspx?id=5549 and download X- Live Games with all components.

Andrey, everything is the same. Please note that once the file is added to the system folder, it must be registered. Press the Win+R key combination and enter the following command in the window that opens:

    regsvr32 xlive.dll

After this, be sure to restart your computer.

Ivan, did you download and install Windows Live and then reboot the computer?

If the game is pirated, maybe it's because of its "clumsy" distribution?
