Disable Firewall
The firewall performs a useful function - it protects the computer from Trojans, worms, spyware, various malicious scripts, etc., i.e. is built-in antivirus. His work prevents attackers from realizing their insidious plans.
But there are situations when the firewall blocks programs for which we have our own plans, for example, a torrent client, a network toy, an online service. To forget about the firewall for a while, you should disable it.
Disable the firewall
To do this, go to the “Control Panel”, look for “System and Security”, then select the “Windows Firewall” section.
After that, a list decorated with shields will appear on the left side of the screen. Select "Turn Windows Firewall on or off."
Now all that’s left to do is select “Turn off Windows Firewall” twice for your home and private network.
Disable the Windows Firewall service
To disable the Windows Firewall service, you need to run the Run utility. To do this, we will use a special hotkey combination "Win+R". We write in the line
After this, press “Enter”. A window with a list of services should appear.
Here we find Windows Firewall, double-click on the line. In the window that appears, select “Stop”, and then “Apply” and “Ok”.
Removing the firewall from autorun
To do this, we will again use the “Run” utility, but we will write another command in the line
Then go to the “Startup” tab, look for Windows Firewall among other programs, uncheck the box next to its line. For the changes to take effect, click the “Apply” button and then “Ok”. You can do this with a standard firewall even if you plan to install its analogue, for example, Outpost Firewall.
If the firewall was deactivated to download a movie from a torrent client or to use an online service, then do not forget to enable it.
