How to set a ringtone on iPhone

Как на Iphone поставить мелодию на звонок

Apple knows how to produce high-quality devices. They are reliable, easy to use and incredibly beautiful. However, new users may be confused by unusual controls and access to this or that function. In particular, users are interested in how to set a new ringtone for an iPhone call. There are three main ways to set a ringtone for your iPhone, which will be discussed below. In the first two methods, you will only need your iPhone, and in the third method, in addition to the smartphone itself, you will need a computer with pre-installed iTunes program. 1 way. Setting a standard ringtone. The iPhone already has a considerable set of standard ringtones, some of which have become truly legendary. Open the menu “Settings” - “Sounds” - “Ringtone” and select the melody you like.

Method 2. This method involves purchasing a ringtone through the iTunes store. Because You can set a ringtone of no longer than 38 seconds for your iPhone's ringtone, and the store's "Sounds" section contains already trimmed tracks of most songs.

After purchasing and downloading a ringtone to your device, the system will immediately offer to set it as a ringtone.

3 way. Installing a ringtone using your computer with iTunes preinstalled.

Open iTunes and go to the “File” menu - “Add file to library”. Specify the path to the file and select it by double clicking the mouse.

Now listen to the song and decide which part of the song you want turn into ringtone. As mentioned above, the duration of the ringtone should not exceed 38 seconds. After listening to the song, write down (remember) the start and end times of your segment.

Right-click on the track and select “Information”. A small window will open, in which immediately go to the “Options” tab. Here you need to indicate the start and end times of the ringtone that were recorded earlier. Don't worry, the song itself won't be cut, but a melody will be created with the playback frames you set.

Click OK and save your changes.

Now you need to change the ringtone format for the Iphone to detect it. To do this, right-click on the trimmed melody and select the “Create AAC version” option.

If you are working on a computer running Windows OS, go to the Start menu - Control Panel - Folder Options (folder options). In the dialog box that opens, go to the “View” tab and uncheck the “Hide extensions for known file types” checkbox. Click the Apply button and then OK.

Open iTunes again and right-click on the ringtone and select “Show in Windows Explorer.” A ringtone with the “m4a” format will open. Now you need to change this format to “m4r” (Iphone ringtone format). To do this, right-click and select Rename. Thanks to the previously made settings, in addition to the file name, you can change the extension in exactly the same way. After entering, press the Enter button, but do not close the window yet.

Open iTunes again and delete the trimmed track. Drag the ringtone from Windows Explorer to iTunes.

Now your ringtone is in iTunes in the “Sounds” section, which means that all you have to do is synchronize your iPhone with your computer so that the ringtone is added to your smartphone.

Connect your iPhone using a cable or perform Wi-Fi synchronization. In the smartphone settings, go to the “Sounds” tab, check the box next to “Sync sounds” and check the “Selected sounds” checkbox. Now select the added ringtone and click the Sync button.

After synchronization is complete, disconnect your smartphone from your computer.

Now pick up your iPhone and open the menu “Settings” - “Sounds” - “Ringtone”. Find and select your ringtone from this list. Ready.
Now you can create an unlimited number of ringtones and assign them, for example, to each contact individually.
