What is the difference between a tablet and an iPad?
In general, tablets are devices that have touch screens with a diagonal of more than 7 inches, which do not have a keyboard; information is entered onto them using a virtual one. Devices are designed to work on the Internet, perform certain tasks, allow watch movies and are managed, as a rule, by operating systems specially created for them.
There are no serious differences between tablets from different manufacturers, but the main difference between Apple tablets is the lack of USB and HDMI connectors for connecting peripherals. And most importantly, iPads do not have the ability to increase the built-in hardware memory using external memory cards. Memory capacity varies from 16 to 128 GB, and must be selected in the store along with the device model. There is also a difference in mobile applications.
Apple is especially proud of its displays. They are distinguished by high color rendition, lack of “grain” in the image, evenness and clarity of strokes and fonts. The entire range has screens protected by tempered glass. The sensor is built on a capacitive principle; resistive sensors can only be found among competitors.
iPads cannot be charged via a computer's USB connector and have only one proprietary connector for the external connection cable. Apple tablets exchange files with external devices using their own iTunes application.
Tablets are usually run on Windows and Android operating systems; iPads use their own iOS operating system, which has a lot of specially developed software applications distributed through the Apple App Store brand store. It is impossible to install an application that is not authorized by Apple. For this reason, the iPad does not support flash technologies (games, videos), which is its main drawback.
