How to connect a computer to a computer?
The most common reason for connecting two computers is quite banal. You just need to move files from one computer to another. Many people already know that there are now flash drives and other media for this purpose. But not everyone has these devices. That's why you have to connect two computers in order to transfer files. But there are even situations when the file is quite large in size. Therefore, it will be difficult to transfer files using a flash drive. You can connect computers using a homegroup. Most have heard about such a group, and some have even seen it on their computer, but have not delved into its essence. With the help of this group you can connect computers to each other. This is done with a few keystrokes (if done correctly). But, at the same time, you must have a router, and both devices must be connected to it, no matter via Wi-Fi or cable.
Step-by-step instructions for connecting computers
• We need to go to the lower right corner and right-click on the monitor icon;
• Next, a small window should open in which we need to select "Network and Sharing Center";
• After the next window has opened, find and open the tab "Home Group";
• A window has opened in which we have to create a home group. Click on "Create a home group";
• Then click "Further";
• Here we have to select folders that will be available for exchange between two computers. We have configured permissions, now click "Further";
• In the next window, the program will give us a password for the group. Of course, it can be changed, but this should not be done. It's best to write down strong password and put it in a safe place. Thus, the group acquires protection from unauthorized access. Accordingly, if you lose or forget your password, you will not be able to connect to the homegroup. Press the key "Done" and we see that our group has already been created. Now you can join it from any computer on the network. And of course, you need to know the password;
• Next, to connect another computer to the homegroup, you will need to open "Network and Sharing Center". Now we should see the button "Join", click on it;
• Here you will also need to select the resources that you want to open on the host computer. The easiest way is to leave everything as it is and not rack your brains. But, if necessary, then configure it. Click "Further";
• Now we need to enter the password that we received when creating a homegroup on the main computer. If you do not write it down, you will not be able to connect and will have to create a new password on the host computer. In general, enter the password and click "Further";
• Now we need to configure access to the drives and folders that need to be opened for public use. To give access to the disk to a computer that connects to the homegroup, then open "My computer" and right-click on the desired drive or folder. Next, a small menu will open in which we select "Properties";
• After that, find and select the tab "Access", and then press the key "Advanced setup";
• Put a tick in front of the inscription: "Share this folder" and press the button "OK". That's it, sharing is open, and now you can view this disk on any computer that has connected to the homegroup.
• Now we go to another computer, open the network, and see that the disk "E" designated as a shared folder. Now we can use it on another computer.
