How to correctly number pages in Word 2010
This article teaches how to correctly enter page numbers in a popular text editor Microsoft Office package 2010. Numbered pages are widely used in many student and school papers. Putting page numbers in the right place is not difficult at all, and this article is designed to prove it to you.
Let's assume that you have written a term paper, essay or dissertation. One important factor in the correct design of such works is the affixing of page numbers. Otherwise, the teacher has the right to reduce points for the work, or even reject it altogether. But we don’t want that, do we? Therefore, let's start with a simple study... The following procedure should be followed:
1. You must open a tab called “Tab” and select the “Page Number” item.
2. In the drop-down list, select the desired location for text numbering: at the top of the page, at the bottom, in the margins of the page and the current position. For example, let's take the case when we need to put page numbers at the bottom of a text page in the center.
3. Select the required tab and click it. The following window will open in front of us.
4. Now we need to select “Page Number” and then “Page Number Format”.
5. A small window will open. “Start with” we indicate 2, because usually the title page is not numbered, and if it concerns a thesis, then the numbering can start from the 5th sheet. We agree to the changes by clicking OK.
6. You must click “Options” and check the box next to the expression “Special header and footer for the first page.” This is necessary so that the page number is not indicated either in the content or in the table of contents.
All that remains is to click “Close Header and Footer Window”. At this point, our work is successfully completed and the pages are numbered from the place we need. This article is coming to an end, I hope you have figured out how to put down page numbers in a text editor Word 2010. Good luck!
