Setting up Yandex mail on Android
The Yandex.Mail program for Android can be downloaded both from the Yandex application store and from Google Play service. Initially, everything is intuitive, but some points require clarification, which is what we will do today, in fact. With a proprietary program, in fact, everything is clear: no settings as such are required, only your login and password. Therefore, we will skip setting it.
Let's move straight to the difficulties, namely the standard mail program, which, as a rule, is called "E-Mail" or "E-Mail". It comes pre-installed on all Android smartphone systems, regardless of brand or model.
You can configure the program using both the IMAP and POP3 protocols.
Configuration via IMAP protocol
After logging into the application, enter your email address and password. Confirm your entry.
Select the account type IMAP, and fill in the fields as follows:
- server - imap.yandex.ru;
- port - 993;
- security type - SSL/TLS.
Confirm your choice. We also fill in the following fields according to the example:
- smtp server - smtp.yandex.ru;
- port - 465;
- security type - SSL/TLS.
If there is an option “Log in”, check it. Enter your username and password again and click “Next” or “OK”.
We configure the checking of the Inbox folder (in other words, synchronization), mark the options that are necessary for you. Confirm your choice.
Next, it’s just a matter of small things: name the account (whatever you want, you need this personally), as well as the name with which your outgoing letters will be signed (optional, the field can be left blank). Confirm your choice - the setup is complete.
Configuration via POP3 protocol
The settings are identical to the IMAP protocol, with the only difference being the fields. Fill them out as follows:
- server - pop.yandex.ru;
- port - 995;
- security type - SSL/TLS;
- never delete messages from the server.
- smtp server - smtp.yandex.ru;
- port - 465;
- security type - SSL/TLS.
