How to make a print screen on a laptop
In addition to its main purpose (data entry), the keyboard contains many other functions. Take, for example, a laptop keyboard. In general, it is practically no different from a regular USB keyboard. But there are many other keys on this keyboard. So, there is a search button here wireless networks (wi-fi), brightness buttons, volume buttons and other keys. If you look closely at the keyboard of your laptop, you can find the Print Screen key on it. This key is most often located in the top row and the following text “prtsc” is written on it. It is worth noting that in most cases a regular computer keyboard also has this key. It looks something like this.
What does this key do? By pressing the "prtsc" key we create a screenshot of the screen. That is, we create a screenshot at a given point in time. So, it turns out that in order to create a screenshot of the laptop screen, you just need to press the “prtsc” button. But what to do next?
Then everything is very simple. After clicking this button, the screenshot is saved in RAM or, in other words, in the clipboard. Therefore, now you need to open it with some program. The standard Paint program is ideal for these purposes. This program is available in almost all versions of the Windows operating system.
If you don't know where this program is located on your laptop, then just go to the "menu"Start", then look for "The programs", then search for "Standard" and already here find and go to the Paint program. You can also find this program using the search.
In the upper left corner of the program, look for the button "Insert". You need to click on this button and the screenshot you took will appear in the Paint program. After that, all that remains is to save it to the desired location on your computer.
It is worth noting that some laptop models have a “prtsc” key, but for some reason everything written above does not work in this case. In this situation, to take a screenshot, you need to use hotkey combination "fn+prtsc". After this, you need to repeat all the steps described above. The "prtsc" key is found on almost every laptop.
