Port for incoming Skype connections
What does this application allow you to do? Perhaps the main functions of the Skype application are audio and video calls. Moreover, all this can be done from almost anywhere in the world. To exchange calls, you first need to configure the Skype program. And it’s worth checking the ports for incoming connections in the Skype settings. What are incoming ports? They are needed so that you can exchange outgoing calls and receive incoming calls. In order for the Skype program to work stably and efficiently, it needs free access via the TCP protocol to certain ports.
Once you install Skype on your computer, it automatically selects any port number greater than 1024 as the port for incoming connections. But there are cases when the above ports are not available for incoming connections. In this case, you can use ports 80 and 443.
In Skype, you can manually specify ports for incoming connections. This is not difficult to do. First of all, you will need to find Skype in the program and select the menu "Tools", and in it click on the item "Setting".
In the new window, look for and click on "Additionally". And here you will need to select the tab "Connection". Here you can enter the port number. And also in this menu it is worth checking the box "for additional incoming connections use ports 443 and 80". After that, press the button "Save"Ideally, the procedure should be completed reboot the system.
In principle, by installing everything that is written here in the Skype program, you will calmly both receive and exchange calls. Of course, you need to set these settings in Skype if they are not installed there.
