2GIS includes an extensive directory of organizations and transport routes for each city. By the way, the creators of the program call it a reference book, which in addition has a map. Its big advantage is that after downloading the directory, an Internet connection is no longer required, while the amount of memory occupied for one city is usually only a few megabytes. You can load a new city directly from the program menu. Undoubtedly, it is also important that the entire program is absolutely free for any gadget.
Mostly, 2 GIS does not play a role navigator, but it has a convenient function for plotting a route from one point in the city to another, taking into account city transport routes (buses, trolleybuses). The program has a useful function for measuring distances indicating the approximate travel time on foot.
All cities where Double GIS operates have their own departments that are responsible for updating the information in the directory. For each of the organizations, a work schedule for each day is indicated, all phone numbers, websites, email addresses; the version for phones and smartphones has a call function directly from the program. The entire list of organizations is distributed under various headings, which in turn are divided into subheadings and compiled into a general catalogue.
Any company you are looking for and its branches can be found by name or from the category of activity in the catalog. There is a function for finding the nearest pharmacies, shops, gas stations, stops, etc. For this, there are special search lines, of which there are two in the computer version - one for names, areas of activity, telephone numbers and routes, and the other for determining the territory (neighborhood, street, stop) .
Built into 2 GIS maps, they have a detailed 3D view that allows you to view buildings from different sides, from different viewing angles. There is also a search radius function for organizations; within a given radius you can find all organizations or only those that are required. You can do this using the search bar.
This program has many advantages over other maps, but it should be borne in mind that its main function is to obtain up-to-date information on city organizations and companies.
