How to make a table of contents in Word 2007
For comfortable creation in Microsoft Word 2007 there is a handy tool. To create a Table of Contents there are two ways that are often used in the modern world.
A way to create using the Table of Contents tool.
This tool is located in the "Links" tab. After creating the main page, you need to give certain types of headings from your text. This can be done in the Styles panel. For these purposes, there is a standard set of three fully developed color schemes. After completing all the steps, you should return to the very beginning, click on the main field. Then you need to click the “Update table” function. If the option with standard styles is not suitable. Then you need to create a table of contents yourself. You need to start by creating three levels of heading. You can create them using the styles window. It is called by pressing hot keys Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S. There will be a “Create Style” icon in the lower left corner.
After defining all the main characteristics of headings, you should return to the “Links” menu. Since standard schemes will not work with our styles, we will have to completely create our own. In the Drop-down window “Table of Contents” you can find the command of the same name. She is in charge of creation. To determine the color schemes we made as the main ones for our version, go to the “parameters” tab. There you need to remove the pointers 1,2,3 opposite the standard. Scroll down the slider to find our own diagrams. Having set where what style should be, we apply all the parameters. Then we proceed as with the standard creation of a table of contents.
Creation using "Hyperlinks".
This method is more complex and time-consuming than the standard one. To use, you must manually create a table of contents with all the items. Then set the title style for all significant phrases. Return to the beginning and, highlighting the word, use the hyperlink menu. There, select the “Place in document” option and select the title we need from the list. After this, the item will be automatically converted. After clicking, it will redirect to the required page in the document. Creating a table of contents in Word is not difficult. And I hope that at least one of the methods helped you.
