The computer does not see the flash drive
What actions should be taken if the flash drive is not displayed on the monitor?
First of all, you need to pay attention to the indicator, which should light up when the flash drive is connected to the connector. If the indicator is functioning, then the problem must be looked for in the operation of the operating system. If the indicator does not light, then the problem may be either in the media itself or in the USB port. To rule out a malfunction of the USB port, you need to try connecting the flash drive to other connectors (rarely will they all be broken).
If the computer is stationary, you can use the USB ports not only on the front of the system unit, but also on the connectors located at the back, taking into account that the front ones may not be connected to the motherboard and, accordingly, have less power supply.
If you have other devices connected to your computer, such as an external hard drive, printer, or Webcam, you need to try turning them off for a while. If after this the computer detects the flash drive, it means that the problem was that there was insufficient power to supply all the devices.
If the flash drive is still not visible, but you remain confident in its working condition and it is visible on other computers, you need to make sure that USB controllers are enabled in the BIOS.
That enter BIOS , before loading the operating system, press one of hot keys: Del, F2, F10 or F12. Next, you need to find “Usb configuration” and make sure that the switch is set to “Enabled”.
You can also check the visibility of the flash drive in the “Disk Management” section. Through the “Start” and “Run” menu, enter the command “diskmgmt.msc”, and then press the “Enter” key.
Another option: enter “Control Panel” - “Administration” - “Computer Management” - “Disk Management”, without leaving which try to pull out and reinsert the flash drive into the port, while observing whether the device appears or disappears.
When the device is displayed, you need to right-click on it and select, if available, “Make partition active” and change the drive letter. Another reason for the invisibility of a flash drive may be the presence of outdated drivers. In this case, you should find out the model of the motherboard and, if necessary, download updates from the official website.
In most cases, all of these solutions are quite sufficient.
