The computer turns off during the game: reasons and actions
Perhaps many have encountered such a problem as the computer suddenly turning off while playing. And in order to start doing something, you need to find out the reason for the shutdown. Reasons why your computer turns off during a game:
- Overheating is the most common cause of shutdown. The thing is that in modern computers the motherboard is protected from overheating by a cooling system, which consists of a fan and a radiator. The latter, in turn, is a set of metal plates that are loosely adjacent to each other. And the fan creates air exchange as a result of which dust from the external environment can settle on the plates, which in turn slows down the air flow. As a result, it turns out that the cooling system is working properly, but the air for cooling is not supplied in full, as a result of which the motherboard is not cooled and a protection is triggered, which turns off the computer, preventing it from overheating.
- The video card does not work. During games, the computer experiences maximum loads and the video card may simply not be able to cope with them, or, as they say, “do not pull the graphics” or simply overheat, which also leads to the computer turning off.
- Viruses that can not only destroy files and all information, but also block the operation of the computer as a whole. As a rule, such an “infection” occurs when using discs with games of dubious manufacture, or when connecting to an unknown application source.
- Operating system malfunction or malfunction.
- A power supply that experiences enormous loads when running games, providing the computer systems with the maximum amount of energy resources. And if it malfunctions or there is simply insufficient voltage in the network, the computer may turn off.
What should you do if your computer turns off unexpectedly?
- In case of overheating it is necessary clean the radiator from accumulated dust. You can, of course, use a cooling unit with additional fans while the computer is running, which will delay cleaning a little, but it still cannot be avoided.
- If the reason for the shutdown is the video card, then you will have to purchase and install a new one.
- Possible viruses need to be fought with the help of special antivirus programs and it is better to entrust this to a specialist, since this requires removing the hard drive and disconnecting the hard drive.
- If the problem is in the operating system, then it needs to be reinstalled.
- Faulty power supply, also needs to be replaced. In any case, if you have no experience in handling computer equipment, then if it inadvertently turns off during a game, you should contact a service center specialist.
