How to clean your laptop from dust

Probably every laptop user can admit that he regularly makes sandwiches at the computer, uses it in transport, cafes and in nature. Therefore, it is not surprising that it quickly becomes clogged and begins to heat up, slow down, and make noise. All this is a consequence of heavy dusting of the laptop components, in particular the fan and radiator. To clean your laptop, you will need some light tools:

- A can of compressed air.

- Vacuum cleaner.

- Cotton buds.

- Screwdriver Set.

- Lint-free wipes.

- Brush with natural bristles.



A vacuum cleaner and a can of compressed air are sometimes interchangeable.

Cleaning the laptop inside

1. Now you can start disassembling the laptop. We disconnect the laptop from the network, turn it over and remove the battery.



2. Remove the back cover of the laptop or part of it. Where the cooling system is located. To do this, we will use a set of screwdrivers. It would also be a good idea to prepare a container for the bolts, otherwise they can be accidentally blown away with a vacuum cleaner.

3. To get to the location where the main source of dust is concentrated, you must carefully disconnect the cooler. Before doing this, remove the power cable from it.



4. After this we will have access to the radiator and space for the cooler. We take a can of compressed air in our hands and thoroughly blow these places. You can also use a vacuum cleaner. Just before that, let’s switch its operating mode to blowing.

5. After the main dust blowing, use a brush. It will remove small traces of dirt. Under no circumstances should we touch the motherboard with a brush. Thus, you can damage the tracks or create conditions for a short circuit if the lint remains on the board.

6. Next, we carefully assemble everything into place and fasten the parts with bolts. Don't forget to connect the power cable to the cooler.

Clearing the screen

We take a special cleaning liquid and apply it to a lint-free cloth. Then we drag it across the screen from top to bottom. Be sure to do this smoothly and without jerking so that there are no streaks left. You shouldn't press too hard either. Otherwise the matrix will be damaged.

If there is no special liquid, then you can use a weak solution of alcohol.

Some people recommend removing dirt from the screen with a slightly damp sponge. After that, wipe it with the same lint-free cloth.

Cleaning the keyboard and other surfaces

To do this we need a can of compressed air. We direct a stream of air onto the keys at an angle of 45 degrees and blow thoroughly. If some particles still remain, you should connect the brush.
With one hand we scrape out the dirt from under the keys, with the other we direct a stream of air to this place.

To clean the laptop ports, we will use cotton swabs and compressed air. Use chopsticks to remove external signs of contamination, and blow air through the holes.

Cleaning the drive should be done extremely carefully, because there is a possibility of damaging the ultra-sensitive optical lens.



We thoroughly blow off the remaining parts of the case with a vacuum cleaner, and then wipe it with a napkin. Follow simple rules to prevent your laptop from getting dirty so intensely:

- Buy a USB cooler and use it when you work on your laptop at your desk.

- Use special laptop stands when you take your computer with you to a chair or to bed.

- Eat not over your laptop, but at the kitchen table.

- Use the “Sleep” operating mode.
