Why won't my laptop connect to WiFi?

Почему ноутбук не подключается к WiFi?

Today we will talk about possible problems that stand in the way of connecting a router and a laptop to each other, as well as ways to solve them. One way or another, this issue should be resolved based on the results of today’s article! First, let’s find out whether the problem lies in the router, or whether it’s the laptop that’s being “naughty.”

Let's check the Internet itself, without a router. This is as easy as shelling pears: just insert the cable itself directly into the computer. If everything works properly, then there is already a suspicion of the router, but nevertheless, we will not immediately blame it. If the Internet connection does not work directly, you need to contact your provider.

We check the router. We again insert the Internet cable into our router and connect to WiFi with other devices: phone, tablet, TV, printer, even another laptop - anything, just to make sure that the problem is not in the router. If the Internet works stably on other devices, this means only one thing: we will dig into the laptop. If WiFi connection is not possible on any of the devices, although we previously found out that the Internet is stable, you need to decide on a router.

To begin with, if we are sure that the problem is in the laptop. We go to the “Network and Sharing Center”, which can be accessed either through the Control Panel or by clicking on the Internet connection icon in the tray in the lower right corner of the screen with the right mouse button and selecting the item of the same name.

Go to "Change adapter settings". We see our “Wireless network connection”, on which we right-click and select “Properties”. Scroll down the list to “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”, select it and also go to its “Properties”.

Everything here should be done automatically. If the settings are set differently, set it to “automatic”. After reboot laptop the problem must be solved.

There is another method that can help you solve this problem. We will again need the “Network and Sharing Center”, in which on the right we select “Manage wireless networks”. Right-click on the problematic network and select “Properties”. In the "Security" tab, select "Advanced Settings" and check the only box - "Enable Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) compatibility mode for this network."

In the same case, if the problem still lurks in the router, we need to contact this article on our website to reconfigure your router. Also in the search you can find router settings specifically for your model. So, if you strictly followed our instructions, most likely everything should have worked out for you. If you have any other questions, our comments are open to you!

I think the problem is more likely with the laptop and not with the Wi-Fi.
