Setting up a Zyxel router
There are several ways to quickly configure the router with your own hands. This will help your smartphone, tablet or laptop receive a high-quality Wi-Fi signal.
In fact, the entire setup is an indication of the MAC address specified in your personal account. Normal operation is only possible if these addresses completely match. There are two options for setting up the router
1) Enter the MAC address of your computer in the router settings, which is indicated in your personal account.
2) Enter the MAC addresses in the appropriate field in your personal account.
For the first option, it is possible to quickly switch to working without a router without making any changes to the settings.
In the second option, you will have to constantly change the MAC address in the corresponding field of your personal account when you turn off the router.
It is more convenient to configure according to the first principle
So, let's begin. Enter in the address bar any browser http://192.168.1.1 или тот адрес вашего шлюза, который установлен по умолчанию. (Его можно определить в свойствах сетевого подключения). Откроется окно.
Enter “Username “admin”. The “password” is the combination “1234”. By clicking “OK”, we confirm that the entered data is correct.
If filled out correctly it will open. main router settings page. Otherwise, you will have to enter the data again.
On the router page, a special field indicates the default network parameters.
Let's move on to the next operation. In the “Internet” section, you must select “Connection”.
The following parameters must be entered:
1 Automatic configuration of IP parameters.
2 Using MAC address: take from your computer.
3 In the “MAC address of the computer” column: indicate depending on which computer is needed to work with the router.
4 There is a checkmark in the “respond to ping requests” column.
5 In the “Auto-QoS” column there is a checkmark.
6 In the “Allow UPnP” column there is a checkmark.
Have all the points been completed? Click “Apply”. After this, the router will accept the appropriate addresses according to the contract, and you will be able to work on the Internet. On the “Monitor” page, or more precisely, in the “Internet Connection” page, you can see the connection parameters. If the IP address is different from the default, for example “10.251.0.xx”, then the settings are correct.
Setting up a WiFi network
In the “Wi-Fi Network” menu, select “Connection”.
1 Check the “Enable wireless access point” checkbox.
2 Come up with a name for the network.
3 Turn on Wi-Fi Multimedia mode.
We do not change anything in the remaining fields. Click “Apply” and then “OK”. Ready!
We protect your WiFi network. To do this, enable encryption-based protection: WEP, WPA or WPA2. WEP encryption is the most vulnerable to hacking, so it is not the most secure. For reliable protection, WPA2 encryption with a password from 8 to 63 characters is recommended.
Configuring your network security settings:
1 Under Wi-Fi Network, open Security.
2 In “Authentication” set WPA2-PSK.
3 Select the type of protection “TKIP-AES” with the network key format “ASCII”.
4 We come up with a password with the parameters specified above.
5 Click “Apply”.
