Setting up the TP-LINK TL-WR741ND router
Configuring the Router is not distinguished by its complexity. If you do everything according to the instructions, it will take no more than 5-7 minutes, or even less. So, how to configure this router? Before you start setting up your router, you need to go to its menu. To do this, open any browser, write 192.168.1.1 in the address bar (if it doesn’t fit, then 192.168.0.1) and press Enter. A window will appear asking for authorization. By default they are:
Login – admin
Password - admin
It is recommended to immediately change your username and password. To do this, in the left menu, find “System tools", expand this section and find the item "Password».
• In the fields “Previous username" and "Previous password» enter current data
• In the fields “New username","New Password" - those that were invented to replace data
• The new password will need to be entered again in the “Подтвердите пароль" to avoid creating a new password with a typo.
• Click "Save».
Now you can start setting up the Internet.
PPPoE connection
In the menu on the left, select the section "Network" and go to "WAN" and set the following settings:
• WAN connection type: PPPoE/Russia PPPoE
• Username: specify the login from the connection agreement
• Password: enter the password from the connection agreement
• Подтвердите пароль: Re-enter the password
• Secondary connection: Disable
• WAN connection mode: Connect automatically
• Click the buttonSave».
DHCP (If connection data is provided automatically by your provider)
In the menu on the left, select the section "Network" and go to "WAN" and set the following settings:
• WAN connection type: Dynamic IP address
• Use these DNS servers: uncheck
• Click the buttonSave».
To obtain an IP address by the router, you must clone the MAC address. For this:
• In the menu on the left of their section “WAN" switch to the section "MAC address cloning»
• Click the buttonClone MAC address»
• Click the buttonSave».
Static IP
In the menu on the left, select the section "Network" and go to "WAN" and set the following settings:
• WAN connection type: Static IP address
• IP Address: specify the IP address from the connection agreement
• Subnet mask: specify the subnet mask from the connection contract
• Main gate: specify the default gateway from the connection agreement
• Primary DNS: specify the primary (main) DNS from the connection contract
• Secondary DNS: specify the secondary (alternative) DNS from the connection contract
• Click the buttonSave».
If you need, you can also set up Wi-Fi.
In the menu on the left, select the section "Wireless mode" and go to "Wireless Settings", then set the following settings:
• Network name: come up with a random name
• Region: indicate your region
• Channel: Auto
• Mode: 11bgn mixed
• Sweet channel: Auto
• Enable wireless broadcasting of the router: check the box
• Enable SSID Broadcast: check the box
• Click the buttonSave».
Then switch from "Wireless Settings" to item "Wireless Security" and set the following settings:
• Select WPA-Personal/WPA2-Personal (Recommended)
• Version: WPA2-Personal
• Encryption: Automatic
• PSK Password: come up with and enter the password for your network (other devices will also enter it to connect to this network)
• Click the buttonSave».
At this point, setting up the router is complete, and you can access the Internet from your computer and other devices.
