How to delete the recovery partition?
You can combat the problem of “eating” the free space of your disk by clearing the backup directories. There is nothing complicated about this - even a beginner can figure it out by following our instructions. In return you will receive a sufficient amount of free space. As a rule, such partitions are created on branded computers or laptops. The system can also create this section itself during installation.
You can delete this partition in the easiest way - when you reinstall Windows. Sooner or later, this procedure will be necessary, and during it we simply delete the system and recovery partitions, and then merge them into one.
But what if you don’t want to reinstall the system in the near future, but you desperately need free memory, so to speak?
Let's use the command line. You need to run it as an administrator - I hope you know how to do this.
At the command line, enter diskpart.
Let's display a list of disks using list disk. We remember the number of the required disk, and enter select disk *, where instead of an asterisk we enter the notorious number.
Let's display a list of partitions - list partition. Here we will see the recovery partition, but if it is not there, it means that we have selected the wrong disk, and the process up to this point will need to start over. If the partition is here, then remember its number and enter select partition * - instead of a star, accordingly, the partition number.
Finally, enter the command delete partition override - after it the partition will be erased. Complete the procedure reboot the system. So, the operation was successfully completed, and a couple more, or even more treasured ones, were added to the free gigabyte counter. Congratulations!
